Keeping You Safe During COVID-19 Pandemic

    Patient-Safety

While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety!

Your health, safety, and well-being are our highest priority!  At all times, we take the highest level of precautions to prevent the spread of infection, including the new COVID-19 coronavirus. You can learn more about these protocols, as well as how you can help keep yourself and those around you healthy, from the American Dental Association’s website.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

We are taking extra precautions to exceed all mandated safety procedures, including:

    • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
    • Temperature will be taken and logged in the patient’s chart at check-in
    • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
    • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time
    • We clean and disinfect treatment rooms after each patient, and proactively clean check-in, check-out, and waiting room areas
    • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
    • We ask every patient to arrive on time, rather than early, for their appointments to minimize the amount of time spend in the waiting area
    • We take temperatures of every team member before the day begins
    • We wear the best-available personal protective equipment (PPE), including custom-fitted 3D-printed masks and face shields to prevent unknown cross-contamination
    • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 770-271-4411 or Request An Appointment Online. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Patients with high temperature, cough, or other COVID-19 symptoms will be rescheduled. Thank you for understanding!

If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or if you or those you are in close contact with have been exposed to the new coronavirus, contact our office and we will assist you with rescheduling your appointment for a later date to make sure you are free of COVID-19 symptoms. There will be no cancellation or rescheduling fees during this time.

If you or someone you are in close contact with have recently traveled to a country with outbreaks of COVID-19 or if you have been exposed to someone who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or quarantined as a precaution, wait 14 days before making an appointment to make sure you are free of COVID-19 symptoms.

We will continue to closely monitor updates from the CDC, the ADA, the World Health Organization and our state officials. In the case of new information, we will keep you informed of any changes to our procedures or appointments.

We ask you to use your best judgement and caution surrounding upcoming appointments and to call us if you have any questions about your appointment or oral health needs. We also encourage you to follow prevention and safety guidelines established by the CDC.
