How much do dental implants cost?

Dental Implants might be
more affordable than you think

When compared to other tooth replacement methods such as dentures and bridges, the cost of dental implants may seem more expensive.  However, dentures and bridges generally have to be repaired or replaced every 5 to 10 years.  The cost of this regular maintenance adds up and can quickly exceed the cost of  implants.  With proper home care and regular preventative visits, dental implants can last a lifetime.  Most importantly, they can prevent your jawbone from deteriorating, which dentures and bridges can’t do.

As your jawbone deteriorates, the shape of your face starts changing and you will start to look older.  Since the jawbone provides support and structure that hold your teeth in place, your existing teeth will start to loosen as it deteriorates.  We believe keeping the rest of your teeth in your mouth is priceless.  Therefore, we encourage you to look at the cost of dental implants as an investment and not an expense.

Cost of Dental Implants

Many factors affect the total cost of dental implants.  Generally, dental implant cost can range between (post only) $1500 to $2000 per implant.  Note, this is the cost of the dental implant or the post only.  There are other costs involved such as:

  • The crown or the tooth itself – This is custom made in a dental lab using various materials
  • The abutment – The part that connects the implant and the crown
  • Cost of tooth extraction if needed
  • Cost of bone graft if needed

These additional costs can range from $2000 to $3300.  This brings the total cost for a single dental implant in the range of $3500 to $5300.

How to Get Exact Cost of Your Dental Implants

As we stated earlier, total cost of dental implant varies from person to person and it is based on many factors.  Some patients may need single implant, while others may need full arches.  Depending on the physical characteristics of each patient’s mouth, additional work may be required which can add to the total cost.

The best way to find the total cost of your implant treatment is to come in for an initial consultation with our Buford implant dentist, Dr. Nimisha Patel.  She will use the 3D scan image during the consultation to determine the density of the bone and to see whether you’re a candidate for an immediate implant or if some additional bone grafting will be needed prior to implant placement.  After your consultation with Dr. Patel, we will create a custom treatment plan for you and provide an accurate cost of your treatment.
