Minimally Invasive

Minimally Invasive and Safer Than Ever Before

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. With the modern advancement of dental implantology, our Buford Dentist is now able to offer dental implants, a more advanced and permanent solution for replacing missing teeth. Dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture.

Implants offer stability because they fuse to your bone. Integration of the implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also find the secure fit more comfortable than conventional substitutes.

Candidates for dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. A thorough evaluation by your dentist will help determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants.

Utilizing advanced 3D digital technology allows for minimally invasive implant surgery with exceptional accuracy and precision.

Our 3D imaging system allows us to see your anatomy in three-dimensional detail. It can be enlarged, rotated, and divided in any direction, thus revealing critical information not always seen in 2D images.

Having this kind of technology at our fingertips allows us to better diagnose and treat a wide variety of dental related issues with accuracy and predictability.

The Implant Procedure

at Our Buford, GA Dental Office

1 - Diagnostics & Planning
  1. A Cone Beam 3-D image of the area of interest is acquired using a state-of-the-Art CBCT machine
  2. An impression is taken and scanned using the CBCT machine
  3. The scanned data is utilized to design a virtual crown with a CAD/CAM software
  4. Patient's CBCT image, digital impression data, and crown is combined to create a complete virtual setup for the implant plan. A prefect implant is selected from an extensive library and the optimal placement is determined
  5. With the help of accurate digital planning, an implant guide is designed to aid in precise surgery and eliminate guess work
  6. Using medically approved material, the implant guide is printed on a 3-D printer
2 - Implant Surgery

Implant is placed as planned with minimally invasive and accurate procedures. Local anesthetic and conscious sedation is used to maximize your comfort.

3 - Final Restoration

After healing, Dr. Patel will craft a porcelain crown that imitates the apperance of your original tooth. This crown is attached to the abutment of the post, using a dental adhesive.

Advantages of dental implants over dentures or bridges

Since implants are permanently integrated into your jawbone and look and feel like your natural teeth; they eliminate the discomfort of removable dentures.

Because Dental implants are permanent, they look and feel like your own teeth.

Unlike sliding dentures which can make eating difficult, Dental implants feel & function like your own teeth; therefore, they allow you to eat your favorite foods with confidence and without pain.

Poor fitting dentures or bridges can sometimes slide or slip within the mouth causing you to mumble or slur your words.  Dental implants are permanently positioned like your natural teeth, you will not have to worry about speech problems.

Tooth-Supported Bridge usually require reducing other teeth.  Since implant does not need support from nearby teeth, more of your own teeth are left intact, improving long-term oral health.  Implants also improve oral hygiene because individual implants allow easier access between teeth.

Implants are very durable and with proper care, many implants last a lifetime.

Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing dentures, as well as the need for messy adhesives to keep them in place.
